Desperate Auto-Lifter Arrested by Patrolling Staff of Mukherjee Nagar Police Station

New Delhi: In a proactive crime prevention effort, the patrolling team of PS Mukherjee Nagar arrested a notorious auto-lifter, Shoaib, son of Md Sharukh, resident of Rana Pratap Bagh, Sangam Park, Delhi, aged 24. The arrest led to the recovery of a button-actuated knife and a stolen motorcycle.

Incident Details: On the evening of October 21, 2024, at around 7:15 PM, Head Constable Amarjeet and Constable Ravinder of PS Mukherjee Nagar were patrolling the sensitive areas near Ganda Nala Road, Vijay Nagar. They spotted a suspicious individual on a motorcycle who, upon noticing the police, attempted to flee by taking a sudden U-turn. The alert police officers acted swiftly, chasing and overpowering the suspect. Upon search, a button-actuated knife was found in his possession.

The accused, Shoaib, confessed to planning a crime, targeting easy victims in the area. Investigation revealed that the motorcycle he was riding had been reported stolen from the Mandawali police station area. Further inquiries confirmed Shoaib’s criminal history, linking him to four previous cases of theft and snatching. His motive for the crimes was to earn quick money.
